Still checking in. Will you return?? I hope so. Hope you didn't take the time to go to the taco truck rally (btw, I think I made that name up). Turned out that it was sponsored by Seattle Magazine.... and had something to do with buying Mariners tickets.

If you did go, did you see the lines???? We didn't stay long. I can walk 2 blocks to Marination and there is never a line on Saturday in west seattle.

Let me know if you need any help... continuing your cause.

I dunno,Dan, I think you're on to something with this free drink thing. Actually, I think it's time we had an official ECEat-up! (like we talked about in the blog a while ago). And how 'bout, any user who comes out gets a beer on us! Sistah.spinstah, you down?

But where and when? So many great brew pubs to choose from, but I have been dying to try out the tamales at 9lb Hammer, so maybe there! And I suggest Tuesday night or Friday night next week.

So, yeah, if it is only me in the forum, that is a little sad. i'll put on my thinking cap. do you have any idea how many folks are logging on to the forum?

We're open to suggestions for what would get people using the forums. If only we could give free beer to all forum users. :)

So, any suggestions for a promotion to get people using the forums?

I wish more people were using this forum. I have never been in a chatty room, blog thing. But food and drink I love. Hopefully more folks will join in. How many members do you have?

Getting our account systems lined up is at the top of our priorities right now. When the system goes live you will be able to log in once to post to the forums or check all your past purchases.

This will change soon, and with this change monitoring past purchases will only be done via the account system.

Thanks for the feedback!

Don't mean to hog the blog. Or forum (or whatever). I've never been interested in any either sort of online interaction, but food and wine, i am all about that.

went to eugene oregon this past week and had some Oakshire Beer. Wow. The "Ill Tempered Gnome" and "Espresso Stout". Knocked my socks off! I usually get 6-packs so I don't browse the 22's. Has anyone seen Oakshire around here?

Me again, and I'm only being critical because I want your site to succeed ...

Your login / account creation process is not at all intuitive. In fact, I'm still not sure whether I have an account.

I created an account for the forum - seemed to work fine. When I go to your home page to purchase a deal, it no longer appears as though I am logged in ... like the cookie isn't shared from forum to regular site.

When I click the login link on the regular site, it asks for my email and order #. No where does it indicate how or where I can create an account. Is an account created on first order? On newsletter subscription? Before a couple minutes ago, I didn't have an order # and I didn't particularly want to subscribe to your email newsletter (prefer rss).

Still, your faq on the order page said that if I had an account, I could track my orders, which is appealing, so I gave subscribing to the email newsletter a shot and I made my first purchase with the same email address. Still no sign that I can login. All I can do is enter an email and associated order number to see details of one order. Doing so does not alter the login link, so I'm assuming I'm still not logged in.

And by the way, that seems like a pretty easy system to hack. Anyone who knows my email address and that I am a customer of this site can start typing in random order numbers (or write a script to do so), allowing them pretty easy access to my voucher. It's not going to take long to get get to my order number, starting at 0.

Hey Dan, it's just the daily deal that I want to get a feed for. I'm assuming that's what you mean by "home page".

I understand the motivation for gathering page stats, but 2 points:

1. How big of an audience are you losing by not having a feed? Are stats worth that loss? I don't make it a habit to visit a bunch of sites on a regular basis. I expect sites to come to me with their information (via my feed reader). I suspect I'm not rare in that respect. The only reason I'm here right now is because a neighborhood blog I follow via feed reader mentioned your deal for the day.

2. What's more valuable to your clients - total page views, or page views from their target audience? If I'm a burger joint owner, I'm much more interested to know that a post for cheap burgers got x number of click-throughs (from your referrer stats) than that your home page gets y number of hits, potentially from people only interested in salon discounts or fancier restaurants.

Just my 2 cents ... take it for whatever it's worth.

Right now the home page is setup in a way that is very difficult for RSS readers to pull. We do this so we can track how many people view the page, as the places we feature are very interested in knowing how many people see their deal.

We are in the process of integrating Feedburner to enable RSS for the main page. All other pages RSS feeds should work correctly.

If you're expereiencing a problem with another page can you please give us a few more details:

What browser are you using?

Are you using any scripts to auto-detect RSS feeds?

Thanks,

I've been trying a number of different pubs in Seattle since moving to the U-District in October. Some of my favorites are Ruby's (U-District), King's Hardware (Ballard), Tractor Tavern (Ballard), Owl 'n' Thistle (downtown), and The Bookstore (downtown).

I prefer places that are quieter and give you a chance to talk and interact with friends. Do you have any suggestion for other places I should check out?

Mawadda is one of my fav places in Seattle. The Chai is so good, that is what we use to make our chai ice cream.

I've started going to Cafe Mawadda on a weekly basis. Just south of Columbia City. The owner is really funny. He used to be an italian chef - three dishes are italian. But... I can't get beyond the veggie combo. pita, salad, fallafel, spanokita, domas, i forget what else. Great chai at the self serve.

Be chill... the food is slow food. in my opinion the best kind. but if you are type A, buck up. Extra points: the owner calls me sweetheart.

My favorite is the 5 Spot on top of Queen Anne. Great food, and lots of great memories there.

I am a big fan of Voula's Offshore Cafe. Maybe not the BEST food, but it's the combination of atmosphere, staff, and originality that makes it.

I think I would have to vote for Geraldine's Counter in Columbia City. http://www.geraldinescounter.com/
